Itinerary Two

5-day Iwate Trip

Going nuts with the FLY

This trip is dedicated to the avid fly fisherman. The Tohoku (Northeast) is one of Japan’s premier regions to catch native Japanese Char and Trout in pristine rivers. Iwate is dead center and has the best spots for fly fishing in the cities of Nishiwaga and Tono. We’ll be fishing with one of the best fly fishing guides in Japan, who knows the narrow roads and river conditions better than anyone. We’ll also visit an independent fly rod maker where you’ll see and feel Japanese craftsmanship at its finest. If that’s not enough, we might be able to squeeze in a drink at a trout-fishing themed bar and restaurant (yes, you read that correct).

This trip packs the best that Iwate offers in fishing with a few surprises along the way.
